Outreach Ministry Team

The Outreach Ministry team is the group that strives to take the ministry of our congregation beyond the walls of our church building.    It seeks to engage as many of our participants as possible in ministries of the heart towards community, the world, those in need and in desperate situations.   Outreach team is concerned with charity, justice and the transforming presence of the church in the midst of  all the ways that life is broken or torn.  

The outreach team meets monthly and welcomes volunteers and new ideas.   

Examples of outreach ministries include:

• Loaves and Fishes, a twice monthly meal.  This involves two or three hours of work beginning at 5PM on Tuesdays or Thursdays designated on our church calendar.  Just let Jay Whiting, the Coordinated know what works for you   h952-746-6325 or w952-496-0959
• Bountiful Basket, a food collection and distribution to the poor in our local community.  Monthly collections of food at Crown Of Glory typically at worship events
• Feed my Starving Children, a food packaging ministry for the needy primarily served by our confirmation students
• Puerta Abierto, assistance to a new start-up ministry among Hispanics of Carver county.   Assistance includes fund raising, donations, tamale sales and event assistance
• Lutheran World Hunger Appear and Disaster Relief, a ministry of our larger church network, the ELCA that brings relief through contributions to the most desperate circumstances on the planet
