The Vision

An 18 representative Vision Team conducted surveys to articulate a shared vision for the congregation’s future and a strategic plan to achieve that future. This resulted in “VISION 2012. Vision 2012 describes a thriving congregation that is evangelical and accepting. We want to reach out to people in our community, especially the many who are now unchurched, and accept them as Jesus accepts us. The town hall meetings and surveys identified three priority areas for immediate attention: worship, children and youth, and our facility. We want to continue to strengthen our worship and our youth programs because these areas are important to our members and they are the entry points into the congregation for unchurched people. As everyone realizes, we also need to get moving on a much-needed building expansion. More

The Plan

Key themes are balance, focus, excellence, relevance and value. Effective churches balance the five biblical purposes, because a congregation is only as strong as its weakest area. Congregations need focus, because it is impossible to have excellence without clear priorities. As people’s lives become busier congregations must provide relevance and value in all programs and activities.

The Plan builds on the many strengths of Crown of Glory to bring “The Vision” into fruition. More
