Communion Assistants

"Do this in remembrance of me"

Communion assistants help the pastor in distributing the bread and the wine (or grape juice) to the congregation.    These persons are mindful of the impact and power of this Holy meal in the lives of participants and enjoy being servants of the people.

Usher Ministry Team

Ushers are a critical  care of the worship life of the congregation.  They make sure people arriving in worship have what they need to fully enter the worship experience.   Passing out Bulletins, assistance in seating, setting out overflow and scrambling to serve those with special needs is part of the servant ministry of an Usher.

            Effective ushers:

  • Desire to serve
  • Extend a arm welcome to everyone who enters our space
  • Understand and support the needs of people and the flow of worship
  • Understand the limitations of our worship space and help people to find what they need
  • Look and act as gracious hosts welcoming people into their own home for the guests of honor

Greeter Ministry Team

"Welcome one another, therefore as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God"

As a member of the Greeter Ministry Team, you have the responsibility as first contact at the entryways of our church facility.  Your warm and caring welcome sets the tone right at the door that this congregation cares for the children of God who enter here.   Your first contact is not a substitute for the ongoing character of love and care of this congregation, but an introduction to the community of love and care in Christ.
            Effective Greeters:

  • Welcome with a firm handshake (not too firm, some are sensitive)
  • Welcome with a smile
  • Look and act as gracious hosts on the front porch of the house, welcoming the stranger to a place called home
  • Help person with initial knowledge of the facility, restrooms, coat room, where's the sanctuary and nursery  etc.
